Laguna Phuket: Pioneering Sustainable Travel with Electric Shuttles

As the sun sets over the stunning backdrop of Phuket, a new chapter in sustainable tourism begins. Laguna Phuket, Asia’s premier integrated resort destination, has taken a significant step forward in its environmental commitment by unveiling eight new fully electric shuttles, coinciding with the grand opening of the Rava Beach Club. This bold initiative not only enhances guest experiences but also sets a new standard for responsible travel in the region.

The newly launched shuttles, supplied by Anuphas NEX, exemplify modern transport technology with their 11 premium forward-facing seats and onboard speakers, ensuring comfort and seamless connectivity during each journey. These electric vehicles are an essential part of Laguna Phuket’s comprehensive sustainability roadmap, which includes a phased transition of its transportation network to electric vehicles and an expansion of EV charging infrastructure by 2026. This strategic move directly supports the resort’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions and promoting low-carbon mobility.

Paul Wilson, Managing Director of Laguna Phuket, expressed the significance of this initiative: “The arrival of the new EVs represents a significant milestone in our journey toward a more sustainable future. These vehicles not only enhance the guest experience but also underscore our commitment to responsible travel.”

In addition to this electric fleet, Laguna Phuket is embarking on an ambitious multi-year regenerative placemaking plan. This transformative project aims to revitalise 2.5 kilometres of the estate into interconnected parks, cultural installations, wellness spaces, and biodiverse landscapes. This initiative reflects Laguna Phuket‘s vision of integrating sustainability, community, and wellbeing into a cohesive guest experience while connecting travellers with the beauty of the environment and the rich heritage of Phuket.

With a focus on enhancing nature-led experiences and encouraging outdoor immersion, Laguna Phuket is not just an integrated resort destination; it’s a movement towards conscious travel. As we look ahead to 2025 and 2026, the phased openings of new amenities will mark a renewed era of integrated resort travel—one that prioritises wellbeing, ecology, and cultural enrichment, all supported by a cleaner, climate-conscious transportation network.
