13,000 to run at ‘the Leading Destination Marathon in South East Asia’.
The world-famous Laguna Phuket Marathon is set to celebrate its 14th year with participants from over 50 countries and is expected to reach 13,000 runners.
Organized by leading event organizer GAA Events, the Laguna Phuket Marathon offers six distances. In the afternoon on Saturday 8th June the Kids Run (2km), 5km and 10.5km take place, followed by the Half Marathon (21.097km), Marathon (42.195km) and Marathon Team Relay in the early morning on Sunday 9th June.
Having been certified by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races) for a 13th consecutive year and professional timing by Sportstats Asia for all race categories, Laguna Phuket Marathon is a qualifying event for the world-famous Boston Marathon.
Laguna Phuket Marathon has also won GOLD for “Best Amateur Sports Event of the Year in Thailand” at the 2017 Asia Sports Industry Awards (SPIA Asia 2017).
The Laguna Phuket Marathon, however, is more than a sports event. It has become a runcation for many, an opportunity for families and friends to holiday together in Phuket, and for Laguna Phuket it is an important part of their sustainable community development programme.
