Laguna Phuket Property Boom
A year after one of the worst natural disasters the world has ever seen invaded Phuket’s coastline, the island’s property market is recording unprecedented sales records.
Asia’s leading destination resort, Laguna Phuket sold a record-breaking 19 properties in January 2006, the highest number of sales ever achieved in a single month during the 14 years that Laguna has been involved in property development.
Laguna Phuket Managing Director, James Batt explains, “there is enormous confidence in the Phuket property market right now and we've had tremendous success selling some 30 properties so far this year. Plus we've launched two brand new real estate projects, Banyan Tree Pool Villas and Laguna Village”.
Banyan Tree Phuket’s latest innovation, a Pool Villa more lavish and grander than any of the resort’s other villa types, is available for sale to private investors. These two-bedroom ultra-luxurious villas feature two separate pools combined with 488 square metres of opulent living space set within private walled gardens ranging from 1,530 to 2,185 square metres. The 13.5x3.5 metre infinity pool containing a glass-walled Jacuzzi overlooks a tropical lagoon offering tranquil water views. The living area, bedrooms and bathroom feature full-length glass walls, with the master bedroom’s glass walls opening onto a 110 square metre wading pool surrounding the silk-canopied bedroom.
Investors have the option to place their villa under the Banyan Tree hotel's management and receive fixed rental returns of six percent for six years, whilst retaining the villa for their personal use for 60 days per annum. Prices start at USD2.5 million and construction will be completed during the third quarter of 2006.
The newly released Laguna Village development is situated on a separate piece of land to the northeast of the 600-acre Laguna Phuket resort complex. Laguna Village features three distinct property types: Laguna Residences, Laguna Townhomes and Laguna Village Villas together with a clubhouse, fitness centre and concierge service.
The first phase of the project will include a limited number of Laguna Residences: one- or two-
storey detached homes with three- or four-bedrooms, a private pool, Thai sala and a generous
garden overlooking a lagoon. Prices start from 21 million Thai Baht for a single storey home.
Also on offer are semi-detached, two-storey, three-bedroom Laguna Townhomes available in two configurations, whereby kitchens are either incorporated into, or located adjacent to, the ground floor living and entertainment area. Outdoors there is a private pool, garden sala and double garage. 16 million Baht will buy this perfect holiday home.
A brand new product, Laguna Village Villas comprises two-storey, two-bedroom properties set within a secluded community with a shared free-form swimming pool surrounded by tropical landscaping. End units measure 256 square metres, while middle units offer 229 square metres of contemporary living space that opens onto an outdoor sala terrace. Priced from 11.9 million Baht Laguna Village Villas offer an affordable entry into the coveted Laguna lifestyle.
Laguna Phuket Property in conjunction with Bangkok Bank, (Singapore Branch), now offers financing to foreign citizens who wish to purchase property in Phuket.
With the purchase of any Laguna property, owners receive complimentary membership to the 18-hole Laguna Phuket Golf Club, and are also entitled to discount privileges at the five Laguna Phuket hotels and spas.
