THAI, TAT and HERBALIFE Sponsor 2005 Laguna Phuket Triathlon

Laguna Resorts & Hotels Plc is pleased to announce that Thai Airways is confirmed to return as the title sponsor of the twelfth annual Thai Airways International Laguna Phuket Triathlon with the Tourism Authority of Thailand and for the  first time in the event’s history, Herbalife International (Thailand) Limited, signing on as presenting sponsors.  The renowned Bangkok Hospital Phuket is also confirmed as an official sponsor, and will be providing all medical support.
 
The race will be held on 4 December this year, moving from Saturday to Sunday in order to take advantage of the King’s birthday long holiday weekend.
 
Race organizers are gearing up for another exciting event which will also feature a 6km Fun Run and a Corporate Team Relay with an option this year to donate a portion of the registration fee to Child Watch Phuket, a charitable organization which benefits Phuket’s abused and at-risk children.   
 
As in past years, the course will be comprised of a 1.8km swim, a 55km bike course and a 12km run, and will offer a US$20,000 Pro Prize Purse and 25 guaranteed entries into the 2006 Ironman Australia to the highest place finishers in each age group.   
 
All five Laguna Phuket hotels will again offer triathletes and their travel companions discounted room rates.  Travel packages from Australia,  North America, Hong Kong, Korea, Italy and Singapore are also being offered by triathlon travel partners.
