Laguna Phuket Opens Up to GCC Holidaymakers with New Airline Connections
A new choice of convenient airline services to Phuket offered by Gulf carriers has opened up access to the Thai tropical paradise island for holidaymakers throughout the GCC countries.
Emirates launched daily direct flights from Dubai to Phuket in December, joining Etihad’s daily service from Abu Dhabi operated by its Air Berlin codeshare and Qatar Airways’ daily flights from Doha via Kuala Lumpur.
The growth of these services reflects Phuket’s growing appeal in the GCC as a holiday destination that offers everything from stunning beaches and spectacular offshore islands to world-class golf, luxury accommodation and vibrant nightlife.
At the forefront of the island’s appeal is Laguna Phuket, Asia’s finest integrated destination resort which last year celebrated its 25th anniversary and continues to attract new generations of holidaymakers with innovative attractions for both families and adventure-seekers alike.
Situated on 1,000 acres of tropical beachfront parkland on the island’s northwest coast, just 30 minutes from Phuket International Airport, Laguna Phuket is a sprawling playground of nine luxury hotel and villa properties linked by fleets of water ferries and buses, complete with an 18-hole golf course, five world-class spas, boutique shopping and a unique waterfront glass-walled Wedding Chapel.
The resort is also internationally renowned as a venue of top-class international marathons and triathlons that each year draw growing numbers of endurance athletes from the GCC countries – including top triathlon pro Faris Al Sultan of Abu Dhabi who competed in the 2011 Ironman 70.3 Laguna Phuket.
Debbie Dionysius, Laguna Phuket’s Assistant Vice President of Destination Marketing, said: “The growth of airline services from the GCC countries is particularly exciting for us as we are engaging with both Arab and expatriate holidaymakers in these important markets.
“Laguna Phuket is now just around seven hours away by air from the Gulf and we offer a wide variety of attractions in a fabulous Thai ambience.
“In addition to all the resort facilities our in-house Laguna Tours can organise trips around the island, from jungle elephant trekking to nightlife clubbing, as well as speedboat tours to amazing islands in the seas around Phuket.
“Laguna Phuket is a convenient and ideal destination for GCC residents looking for an exotic break during Eid holidays, the hot summer school holiday months, or anytime just for a relaxing or fun-filled getaway,” she said.
And if visitors to Laguna Phuket can’t bear to leave they can always buy their own piece of paradise – Laguna Property has a portfolio of villas, townhouses, condominiums and apartments for sale around the resort, enabling both secure investment and access to the Laguna Phuket lifestyle.
