Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket to showcase Royal Thai Cuisine in Bangladesh

Phuket, Thailand – Two chefs from Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket will showcase royal Thai cuisine at a 'Thai Food and Cultural Festival'  in Bangladesh from 19 to 28 July 2011.

Having worked at Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket for 21 years, demi-chef de partie Mr Boonram Chuamchuay will represent the resort with kitchen assistant Mr Eakaluk Junsakul at this 10-day international event to be held at Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel Dhaka.

Over 50,000 visitors are expected to attend the event, which is co-organised by the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka and Thai Airways International. "We are delighted to be invited to present world-class Thai cuisine and hospitality at the fair. “This is not only a great opportunity to introduce Thai culture to Bangladesh, it's also a showcase for two talented members of the culinary brigade working at Ruen Thai restaurant," said Mr Peter Komposch, General Manager of Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket.

The chefs plan to impress by preparing authentic southern Thai cuisine, including signatures dish Nam Prik Goong Siab (Phuket-style dipping sauce of dried-shrimp, chili and smoked shrimp paste served with vegetables) alongside with some of the famous Thai dishes , such as Tom Yam Goong’ (traditional sour and spicy seafood soup), and Tom Kha Gai (coconut soup with chicken and galangal). Ruen Thai restaurant is open for dinner at 6pm-11pm (closed on Sundays and Mondays).
