The launch of Laguna Phuket’s promotion in collaboration with Tourism Authority of Thailand, to giveaway one free room night with every paid room booking, has been a tremendous success. In a positive move to stimulate tourism to Phuket, the promotion: a global marketing initiative whereby seven Laguna Phuket hotels have offered up to 100,000 complimentary room nights in an attempt to reverse the slowdown in tourist arrivals to the holiday island of Phuket, has generated huge interest and thousands of room bookings.

Traffic to the newly revamped Laguna Phuket site soared in the days leading up to the promotion start and groaned under the weight of interest of keen holiday makers looking for a bargain. One satisfied guest told Laguna Phuket’s destination marketing department “I have always wanted to stay at Banyan Tree Phuket, and now I have booked a weekend from Hong Kong to stay in the legendary resort for half the price it normally would have been, my wife and I are excited to have this opportunity”.

The “100,000 Smiles in Laguna Phuket” promotion offers a one month booking window from 1 to 31 March for stays from 15 March until 15 December 2009.
