Thailand is renowned for its traditional customs and Phuket, due to its geographical location, has a very interesting, unique and rich story of its own. Burmese invasions, tin mining, rubber trading, various religious beliefs and tourism have all played a role in shaping the Phuket we all enjoy today. On this tour guests can relax and enjoy a trip back in time as the Laguna Leisure Host ventures off the beaten trail giving a real insight into Phuket culture.

Itinerary

10.00am

Pick up from your resort.

10.15am

Arrive at Phra Tong Temple in Thalang, famous for the half-buried golden Buddha statue called Luang Poh Prathong (Golden Buddha) in its grounds.

11.15am

Visit Thalang National Museum, an important cultural attraction of Phuket, containing ancient artifacts from Phuket's colourful history.

12.30pm

Arrive at Rang Hill to enjoy panoramic views over southern Phuket. Then enjoy a delicious traditional Thai food lunch.

1.30pm

Travel to Phuket Town. In this quarter of the town you will see old buildings designed in Sino-Portuguese architectural style, and once occupied by Phuket's tin mining barons over 1 00 years ago.

1.30pm

Visit the local fresh market and sample some exotic Thai fruits which are unique to the region as the Leisure Host leads guests through the very interesting, bustling market.

2.00pm

Arrive at Jui Tui Chinese Temple. Built in the 1920s, it's the oldest and most famous of the Chinese temples in Phuket.

2.15pm

Visit Pornthip Sea Store which is one of Phuket's largest local souvenir shops.

3.00pm

Return to Laguna Phuket.

3.30pm

Arrive back at your resort.
