Laguna Phuket Sea Turtle Conservation Ceremony Since 1994, Laguna Phuket has held this event within its complex, to raise funds for the sea turtle conservation programs run by the Royal Thai Navy and Phuket Marine Biological Centre. In Thai culture, turtles represent longevity, and by releasing turtles into the sea, as happens during this ceremony, one hopes to gain long life and make merit. Donations are exclusively used for sea turtle conservation measures, including protection of nesting beaches, eggs and hatchings, public education and environmental legislation efforts.

Tree Planting Ceremony
As part of the Laguna Phuket environmental programme, the Lagun Phuket staff will take part in a tree planting ceremony.

Khao Pansa (Buddhist Lent Day)
The Buddhist Lent starts on the first day of the waning moon of the eighth lunar month. The tradition of Buddhist Lent or the annual three-month Rains Retreat known in Thai as "Phansa" dates back to the time of early Buddhism in ancient India.

KTO Junior Challenge Golf Tournament 2008
Laguna Phuket and Kids-Tee-Off are pleased to announce the inaugural KTO Junior Challenge Golf Tournament on 5-7 September 2008 at the prestigious Laguna Phuket Golf Club. This international tournament is open to children 6 to 17 years of age (on the day of the event) who hold a current handicap card from a recognized golf club. For more dejfestival starts on the first days of the ninth Chinese lunar month and continues for 9 days. Lots of body piercing and strange processions of people under trances. Part of a cleansing ritual which involves many local residents. Excellent vegetarian food on sale in the streets.

Loy Krathong
Nationwide Buddhist festival where traditional floats (krathongs) made from banana trees with flowers, candles and incense are set adrift on water and hot air balloons are launched, in the belief they will rid them of their troubles. A truly stunning event.
To celebrate the event, Laguna Phuket hosts a festival where traditional floats (krathong's) are set adrift on water, together with a variety of entertainment.

Laguna Phuket Triathlon
The annual Laguna Phuket Triathlon is an exciting event that attracts top athletes from all over the world. The race starts with a 1.8km swim followed by a cycle along a 55km course up a coastal road, and ends with a 12km run. Email for details.
